Creation Myth

Themes of sadness, supreme beings and cosmic eggs are at the centre of many creation myths which is unusual because the ways of life and beliefs were so different. In the Chinese myth of Phan Ku there is sadness among the humans. Phan Ku has died because he was too old and tired to continue the earth so he goes to sleep and never wakes up. This is how the sadness formed among the humans. The Supreme Being is Phan Ku in the Chinese myth. According to the Chinese, he has created everything we know about and what we don’t know about. A cosmic egg once carried chaos and Phan Ku. The egg exploded and out came Phan Ku and with him came yin and yang. He himself stood between the two elements and this is how the sky and the earth are separated. Phan Ku created everything right? The question is, what created Phan Ku?

 I have many favorite things, but in this post, I have my top favorite things. My PSP Go is my favorite hobby

 I just got it a few days ago so I pay a great amount of attention to it. It reminds me of my best friend, Bailey, because he loves his PSP too. We can relate to each other’s experiences on our PSPs.he has more experience than me so I can only talk about the stuff that we both know. I have a wallet that was given to me by my aunt, Rola. I really appreciate the gift she gave to me. I love my aunt and respect her so the wallet means a lot to me. I only visit her about every 4 years. Now I can visit her more because I live closer. I own a watch which lets me know how much more break time I have left. My home group teacher recommended us to get a watch so that we don’t have to look in the hallway for a clock. I found this really helpful because I also know when to break my fast in Ramadan. The basketball represents my love for sports. I love to run around and practice teamwork with my friends. I especially like to make friends at the start of the seasons. I really enjoy soccer and sprinting. I love my wonderful iPod. It lets me feel free to dance and sing along to the music I have on it. I had to work hard for it and I still achieved my goal for my excellent marks in school. I only have 43 songs but I like to have a small amount because I know what song is on after another. These are my favourite pieces of stuff that I have with me at the moment.

My Name- Basel

Our name is what we respond to. It also describes our personality. My name is Basel and this is my story. It’s an Arabic name that means brave and courageous. My great-grandfather was a walking grocery store who sold garlic and onions in a village called, “Fayoum”, in Egypt. When he got back to Beirut, Lebanon, people called him the “Fayoumi” which turned into my family’s last name. Did you know that I could have had the name Bilal? Our neighbour came over one day when I wasn’t born and my dad asked her which name it should be, Basel or Bilal. She said Basel, and that’s how my name came to be. There are two things about my name that stand out to me the most, one good thing, the other a bad thing. The good thing is my name is easy to spell. The bad thing is that every new teacher or sub that I get to know pretty much calls me a herb, which completely frustrates me. I really love my name. To me it sounds peaceful, but the real reason I like my name is because of the meaning. It fits me perfectly because when there was the 2006 war in Lebanon, I was scared but I didn’t cry. The bombs that were dropped were monsters that ripped buildings apart. I wouldn’t change my name unless I was forced to. I found my name’s history very interesting. I also had a ton of fun learning about my history. Now let's listen to your's.
